Time to catch up on what I might have missed while on the road this week:
DataBank has bought some more depth in Pittsburgh, PA. On Wednesday they announced a sale/leaseback transaction for a facility owned by PNC Bank. It spans 115,000 square feet across three stories, one of which will continue to be occupied by PNC Bank as the building’s anchor customer. DataBank plans to upgrade the power and cooling systems in order to better take advantage of the available space.
Orange Business has landed a new enterprise SD-WAN contract. Weener Plastics has signed on for a 5-year managed SD-WAN agreement that will hook up 24 sites worldwide. Weener will use the upgraded network to better access the cloud-based applications its manufacturing teams need. This sort of multi-site international deal has always been Orange Business’s bread and butter.
Megaport has a new partner in the Far East. They are collaborating with Hong Kong-based HGC to deliver a Multi-cloud Connect Service, which as you might guess provides direct connections to a wide spectrum of the usual cloud provider suspects worldwide. The service combines both Megaport’s interconnection fabric and HGC’s managed ICT services.
