A new data center, an expansion, a new tenant, and some more new data centers:

Iron Mountain has some big plans for the Chicago suburbs. According to this local report, the data center and managed services company will be building a giant 330,000 square foot facility in Des Plaines, Illinois for about $75M. The location is 1680 E. Touhy Avenue on the site of what was once the Hart Schaffner Marx suit factory. The company will be receiving tax breaks from the city council to help things along.

Interxion has picked up a new tenant in Ireland. GlobalDots has picked the data center company’s Dublin campus to house its data there. GlobalDots specializes in cloud performance and security, and its move into Ireland follows a growing trend among cloud providers towards infrastructure there.

Green House Data is now working on phase 3 of its data center expansion out in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The buildout will add 2 new data center floors and 7,500 square feet of white space. The project will finish filling the original shell they built and should be complete by the end of Q1.

And in India, Bharti Airtel is looking to take a big swing at the data center business. Through its subsidiary Nxtra Data Ltd, the company is planning to build out 10 data centers across the country, with the first four in Mumbai, Chennai, Kokata, and Pune. Also part of the plan is the conversion of some 120 mobile core sites into edge data centers.
