Some customer wins and expansion plans worth a look at midweek:
EdgeConneX has a new tenant at its new facility out in Phoenix, Arizona. Telia Carrier is establishing a PoP there as part of its ongoing expansion of 100Gbps services out to the edge. It’s also part of the partnership between Telia and EdgeConneX that the two announced in July. Meanwhile, Telia has also boosted its metro footprint in the Phoenix metro area, especially to the east and southeast with route options to Tempe, Chander, and Gilbert.
Peak 10 + Viawest has unveiled expansion plans in the Pacific northwest. They will be adding 114,700 square feet to the company’s Brookwood data center in Hillsboro, Oregon. The expansion will leverage adjacent land and will more than double the size of the facility. Serving as the US PoP for the New Cross Pacific and Hawaiki cables, the company’s Brookwood data center’s profile will certainly be on the rise next year.
And Equinix has added Kingsoft Cloud to its customer list in Southeast Asia. China-based Kingsoft has picked Equinix’s Singapore IBX as part of its expansion into the region. Kingsoft’s cloud underlies the technology that powers Xiaomi’s mobile empire, and clearly they are looking to expand their success in China into adjacent regions.
