Metro Bytes: EarthLink, tw telecom, CenturyLink

June 4th, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

In the metro space this week we have the channel helping out with two contracts with two retailers, and bandwidth for a few good men.

Under new management this year, EarthLink won a substantial contract with Anna’s Linens. They’ll be providing managed MPLS network solutions and SIP trunking for the home textile retailer’s 300 stores across the country. In another sign that the channel is gaining traction in a cloud and managed services world, Grauman Communications helped facilitate things.

tw telecom added a national retailer to its customer list this week. They’ll be providing IP VPN services to Stein Mart bringing secure connectivity to more than 270 stores and data centers nationally. The channel was involved here also, as systems integrator Presidio helped facilitate the deployment.

And CenturyLink picked up a couple Federal contracts in the DC region this week. They will be providing a managed VPN and point to point circuits hooking up 37 locations for the US Marine Corps Community Services headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. It’s a one year contract with four optional years valued up to $3.5M. CenturyLink also recently won another Marine contract worth $8.5M over the next two years hooking up the Marine Corps Combat Development Command and the Marine Corps Barracks.
