M&A Poll: Which US Network Providers Will Be Buyers In 2012?

January 3rd, 2012 by · 4 Comments

Welcome back everyone!  I have asked this question each of the last several years, and in 2011 readers actually did a pretty good job, with five of the top seven making big moves during the year.  Once again, I’m including US fiber network operators generally valued at $500M or above, public or private – though I don’t claim the list is complete.  You can select up to three, so your second and third choices matter:

Since Zayo already announced a 2012 acquisition, I hope all your readers are correct with at least one of their three predictions. 🙂

Figures you’d be the one to do that to me, putting out an M&A PR an hour after I posted the poll! Consider the question modified to buy ‘more’… 🙂

I respect this community, but TW ranked second seems like a stretch… maybe this is their year but I would not look for anything substantial.

I think consolidation will continue to happen as there are several bargins out there. Would not be surprised that one of the big consolidators, Telepacific, who seems to want to become a national CLEC may be a target.
