Limelight Picks Up Middle Eastern Win

July 19th, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Limelight Networks (NASDAQ:LLNW, news, filings) expanded its stomping grounds deeper into the Middle Eastern marketplace with a win at MBC.  The Middle East Broadcasting Center (MBC) has selected the evolving content delivery company as its sole solutions provider for video publishing, site acceleration, and media delivery services.

MBC isn’t a household name in this part of the world, but it operates the first free pan-Arab free-to-air satellite station as well as the VOD site Shahid.net and the AlArabiya.net streaming news site and a variety of more traditional outlets.  The media group boasts 165 million viewers worldwide.  It is those two websites though that are the focus of their deal with LimeLight.

It was the full package that MBC was after, offering justification for Limelight’s continuing moves into the managed services realm.
