A Smattering of Stimulus Award Fiber Maps

Over on the government’s Broadband USA site, there is this PDF with the various awards granted or pending.  Inside it is a collection of the maps that went with each application for funding.  As long time readers know, I am a sucker for maps – so I couldn’t resist collecting a few in a more accessible format than a 65 page government generated PDF – some covered here earlier and some not.   You can click on each thumbnail for a larger, readable map.

First, here are the maps associated with awards at Zayo, Deltacom, and OpenCape/RCN.  Deltacom’s map isn’t actually a map but a network diagram that offers details on the equipment involved from Infinera and Alcatel-Lucent.   Zayo’s seems to be not of fiber itself, but of the zone influenced by that fiber to which broadband will be more easily accessible.

Here are Level 3’s six winning maps, which include the rural sites at which they will add an access point:

And finally here are some other fiber maps of projects I didn’t know much about.  A picture is worth a thousand words:

Zito Media, Northeast Ohio Louisiana Board of Regents

Critical Hub Networks in Puerto Rico

Contact Networks, Mississippi ENMR Telephone Cooperative, New Mexico University of Illinois
Lane Council of Governments, Oregon Northwest Open Access Network, Washington Wisconsin Board of Regents
