Data center stock trends – Q2 2012

The second quarter of 2012 was still positive, on average, for most data center stocks, while the CDN sector remains very volatile. While performances were not as impressive as in the first quarter, we may recognize a trend as network-neutral operators and REITs seem to attract the attention of most investors.

Equinix (EQIX) closed 1H 2012 with a 73% gain, while European network-neutral players Interxion (INXN) and TeleCity scored a positive 35% and 24%, respectively.

The best performer in the REIT category was CoreSite (COR), with a 45% gain overall, while Digital Realty (DLR) and Dupont Fabros Technology (DFT) still achieved double-digit numbers (13% and 18% respectively).
