Two from the UK and one from Japan:
NTT Docomo is moving deeper into the world of quantum computing. They have deployed a second production quantum application with the help of D-Wave. They are targeting devices that cross TA-List boundaries, reducing network signaling load and improving efficiency. The new application is said to reduce daily peak location registration signals by 65.3% by optimizing the grouping of those traffic areas. D-Wave’s quantum computing solution targets optimization problems of this sort.
euNetworks is taking aim at further lowering their carbon footprint. They have new sustainability-linked loan targets that include Network Development ‘Impact by Design’ Plans and improvements on the GRESB infrastructure benchmark score. The new framework for construction projects will affect some 2/3 of the company’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Vantage Data Centers has picked up a significant deal over in the UK. The AI Cloud provider Nebius will be deploying high-density, NVIDIA-powered AI infrastructure at Vantage’s CWL1 campus in Newport, Wales. Nebius has announced £1.7b in capacity buildouts across 4 sites in the UK. Vantage is looking to deliver 1GW of such capacity across South Wales in upcoming quarters.
