A few interesting items from around the sector:
Arcadian Infracom has tapped LightRiver as its NOC provider. LightRiver’s technology will support Arcadian’s footprint, which has grown to six longhaul routes spanning 1,450 route miles of network in the western US. The first of the company’s greenfield fiber routes should be completed later this year, connecting Silicon Valley with Eureka along the coast of northern California.
Prysmian is investing $1.2B into its manufacturing infrastructure in the southeastern US. The investments will go into three sites in North Carolina ($1.068B), South Carolina ($80M), and Tennessee ($100M), creating 600 new manufacturing jobs in all. Last month the company won a $6.29B deal with Molex for optical cables for the data center marketplace.
Macquarie Cloud Services has picked up a third Datacenter Optimisation agreement with Microsoft Azure. The three year deal will support Azure growth in support of Australian organizations. Macquarie is looking ahead to Azure consumption spend of $278M over the next three years.
