Two network expansions and a bit of non-commercial support:
RETN is expanding its depth in eastern Europe with a new fiber route. They have added a diverse link between Kaunas and Bialystok that passes through Suwalki, boosting their capacity and capabilities between the Baltics and the rest of Europe. The route crosses the narrow corridor between Lithuania and Poland, with Belarus and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad on either side, leveraging transport and utility networks.
Race Communications has added another market to its FTTx expansion out in California. They have begun hooking up customers in the city of Atwater, which is southeast of Modesto in the state’s Central Valley. Race now has infrastructure live in 50 communities around the state, and will see its investments reach $200M in 2026.
And NetIX has hooked up a new and very unique network customer. They are supporting AS214757, an educational and non-commercial project built by a Czech teenager. At 15 years old, Jakub Krša built his own network that offers aspiring engineers and hobbyists free tools, guidance, and services such as IPv6 transit and a tunnel broker. NetIX is providing a 10G port, 10Mbps of IP transit, and access to GIX.
