Four buildout projects from the Midwest and West to catch up with:
Ripple Fiber is building out fiber into a new market in the Midwest. They are now connecting customers in Naperville, Illinois as they continue a $104M investment in DuPage County and Cook County. The project just kicked off in the fall of 2025, with construction also still ongoing in Elk Grove and Streamwood, and future expansion expected in Aurora, Downers Grove, Glendale Heights, and Plainfield.
Lightcurve has launched some serious last mile bandwidth in the Pacific Northwest. They have boosted bandwidth to symmetrical 8G for customers in Ellensburg, Selah, and Kittitas in Central Washington, with the next markets on tap being Tacoma, Centralia, and Chehalis. Those last two were new markets for Lightcurve as of February of this year.
Comcast Business has been busy in the sports vertical out in California. They have deployed next generation network infrastructure at Levi’s Stadium, which the San Francisco 49ers call home. It’s an ongoing collaboration aimed at WiFi for as many as 70K fans and a range of voice and data services for the stadium’s operations.
And this morning, Hurricane Electric boosted its presence in Nebraska, and not in Omaha where all the news usually comes from there. The IPv6-native backgone has established a new PoP at Lincoln Data Centers, which is located at 206 South 13th street in the state capital of Lincoln. HE will look to exchange IP traffic with organizations and networks around the region.
