Interesting deals from around the globe:

DE-CIX and datamena say they have invested in an upgrade in the Middle East. They have boosted access to UAE-IX in Dubai to 400GE. They are responding to increased demand, with connected customer capacity on the exchange growing by 2Tbps and 30% over the past 12 months. UAE-IX was formed in 2012 and is operated under the DE-CIX-as-a-Service model.

Africa Data Centres is teaming up with Blue Turtle Technologies. The South African IT provider will be deploying multiple racks in ADC’s Cape Town and Midrand data centers. From there they will look to supply colo and cloud services to the region’s enterprise community. ADC operates 3 facilities in South Africa and one each in Kenya and Nigeria.

VOX Solutions has picked up some key business in South America. Claro Ecuador has appointed the company as the exclusive gateway for A2P traffic delivery into its network. The VOX-360 platform enables Claro Ecuador to better protect its customers against spam and fraud.

And Softbank no longer owns a piece of T-Mobile. They have sold off their stake for $4.9B in a block sale managed by Bank of America. The move is apparently part of a broader plan to refocus on AI and semiconductor infrastructure. Softbank has invested in OpenAI and also recently bought the chipmaker Ampere.
