Georgetown University has tapped Cisco to upgrade its campus connectivity. In a multi-year partnership, Cisco will be providing the necessary technology to roll out Wi-Fi 7 to classrooms, dorms, stadiums, and other campus locations. That will cover both their Hilltop and Capitol campuses.
Sabey Data Centers has expanded its partnership with JetCool. The two have been working together for more than two years on direct-to-chip cooling in support of the high density environments needed by AI. Now they will be simplifying and scaling the deployment across Sabey’s national footprint. JetCool is introducing modular cooling architectures for GPU-based servers with the help of Dell Technologies.
Ripple Fiber has officially broken ground up in the state of Washington. They are now deploying the first parts of a 126-mile project in Ocean Shores on the state’s southwestern coast. The first customers are expected to come online this quarter, with 10K targeted overall. Next up will be Federal Way, a city of 100K to the northeast of Tacoma.
Adtran has picked up a significant deal in Italy with FiberCop. The country’s wholesale-only fiber operator will be deploying Adtran’s optical transport technology across its metro footprint. The deal will leverage a range of Adtran’s products, including its FSP 3000 platform, Mosaic Network Controller, and coherent 100ZR pluggable optics.
And Tecto Data Centers has revealed plans for a new data center in Porto Alegre. They are investing R$200M to build out a 20MW facility in the city on Brazil’s southern coast. Named TPOA1, the facility will be connected directly to the Malbec subsea cable linking to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires via a new branch. The first phase of the project will deliver 3MW of capacity in the fourth quarter of 2026.
