Blue Owl Acquires South Reach Networks

July 16th, 2025 by · Leave a Comment

Some key Florida fiber infrastructure is changing hands. South Reach Networks announced yesterday that it has been acquired by a fund managed by Blue Owl Digital Infrastructure. That’s not a household name yet, but it’s interesting what else Blue Owl has been up to.

SRN operates 370 miles of network along the east coast of Florida, from Jacksonville to Miami. The longhaul piece derives from the Allied Fiber build a decade ago, while the Miami metro piece started out as InterConnect Miami. SRN has further invested in those assets over the past few years including into some metro reach in Boca Raton, and Blue Owl is looking to add major new builds across the network as well.

Blue Owl will be bringing in Scott Bergs as CEO of SRN, a role he will hold alongside his position of CEO at Dark Fiber & Infrastructure. DF&I is also owned by Blue Owl, and builds and operates fiber in the DC metro area. We spoke at length with DF&I here on Telecom Ramblings last year of course. While in different markets that are not (yet) contiguous, the two companies have parallels and it’s not out of the question that Blue Owl might decide to merge them into a larger consolidation platform.
