Upgrades and expansions around the world to catch up with:

TelCables Nigeria is building out its infrastructure into Rack Centre’s data center in Lagos. TelCables Nigeria is a subsidiary of Angola Cables, which operates a high capacity network that taps into the SACS, MONET, SEBRAS, and EllaLink subsea cables for connectivity to Europe and the Americas. Rack Centre’s facility offers 13.5MW of power and a PUE of 1.35 from sustainable energy sources.

Arelion’s recently unveiled upgrade plans in Scandinavia got a bit more specific yesterday. The global network operator says it will be upgrading its PoP at EcoDataCenter’s Falun campus in Sweden. They plan to leverage new scalable 400G/800G optics to add capacity and diversity in support of AI deployments. EcoDataCenter’s campus northwest of Stockholm has 80MW of fully renewable power available – 75% from hydro and 25% from wind.

The Belgian IT and cloud solutions provider Cegeka has tapped Adtran and Arcadiz for a new network upgrade. The deployment of Adtran’s FSP 3000 optical transport platform and Arcadiz’s tailored optical spectrum services will enable a new DCI network linking the company’s existing facilites with a new data center in Brussels and support a wide range of protocols and security options.

And GTT has further built out its global DDoS capabilities. The global network operator has teamed up with Corero to add scrubbing capacity on three continents with deployments in São Paolo, Hong Kong, and Miami. That brings their total to 13 such locations around the world and their total scrubbing capacity to 4Tbps. DDoS attacks have been growing in size to match global infrastructure demand.
