Three items from Europe and one from Arizona:

Adtran has picked up some business over in southeastern Europe. PPC, the biggest power utility in Greece, is using Adtran’s open, disaggregated 10G fiber access platform to power its pilot buildout in Peristeri, a suburb just northwest of Athens. They have 6M electricity customers, and are looking to connect 3M homes and businesses with fiber over the next 4 years.

Viavi has officially opened a new production facility in Chandler, Arizona, just southeast of Phoenix. The company has been shifting its operations from California to the Phoenix metro area over the last year, moving its HQ and building the new facility in Chandler. Viavi generated $1.3B in revenue in 2022.

And Sparkle has a new CEO. The board of directors of TIM, Sparkle’s parent company, has named Enrico Maria Bagnasco as its international network division’s new leader. He will take over from Elisabetta Romano after a two-year run. Ms. Romano is also CNO and Wholesale Officer at TIM and will maintain her role as Board Director.
