Three ecosystem partnerships, one technology upgrade, and a customer win across five US data center and colocation operators worth noting from this week:

EdgeConneX added a new ecosystem partner this week. Zenlayer is bringing its edge cloud and networking solutions to the company’s global data center footprint. From that position out on the edge in 30 markets they will target nearby enterprises with on-demand bare metal cloud, cloud connectivity, application acceleration, and managed hosting.

vXchange has picked up a customer in the artificial intelligence business. MOD Tech Labs has moved its servers to vXchnge, powering an AI platform for image processing. MOD Tech Labs is expanding into 3D processing solutions, and anticiptges GPU usage to increase significantly. They are also looking to work with the medical vector, which requires advanced security to meet regulatory requirements.

The modular edge data center provider EdgePresence is partnering up with AlefEdge. AlefEdge offers a compute and delivery network called EdgeNet, which will leverage EdgePresence locations as they get built out. EdgePresence has about 8 locations in place, with hundreds more planned around the country.

Aligned has unveiled enhancements to its Delta3 cooling technology. The technology upgrades increase the company’s cooling capacity by 25%, enabling even higher densities than they were already supporting. Delta3 uses up to 80% less energy and 85% less water than traditional methods, scaling up to 50kW per rack. Aligned recently landed a $1B financing deal to help power its next stage of growth.

And NJFX continues to add regional partners to its ecosystem. United Fiber & Data has hooked up its recently constructed alternative route down to Ashburn to NJFX’s cable landing station colocation campus. UFD’s fiber route stretches 341 miles along a path to the west of the traditional I-95 corridor, offering a fully diverse option to traffic coming ashore in New Jersey that needs to get to the data centers of northern Virginia.
