Three bits of FTTH investment and an E-Rate project to check out from the past few days.
There was a bit of fiber M&A down in Georgia last week to catch up on. Truvista Fiber has announced the acquisition of SlyTel, a municipal fiber operator that connects residential customers in Sylvester, Georgia. The deal will expand Truvista’s presence in southern Georgia.
Wyyerd Fiber is expanding its last mile fiber infrastructure. More specifically the Arizona fiber operator has begun construction in Avondale in the greater Phoenix metro area’s West Valley. Wyyerd has also been busy this year expanding down into the Tucson metro area of course.
WANRack has broken ground on a new E-Rate project down in Florida. Along with United Data Technologies and the Columbia County School District, they will be building out a dedicated private fiber WAN connecting every school in the district. WANRack merged with Gateway earlier this year, and is now the company’s E-Rate division.
And Ripple Fiber has announced plans to enter California. The FTTH provider says it is investing $60M into the expansion, which will start out in Bakersfield and reach out to 50K homes in Kern County. Construction will begin in early 2026. Ripple also just announced a new expansion project in the state of Washington a few weeks ago.
