A couple of interesting infrastructure projects:

EdgeConneX has kicked off construction on a major new project over in Japan. They are building a 200MW, AI-ready data center campus in Greater Osaka, working with Kayoga Asset Management. The campus will span 130,000 square meters and support as much as 350MW of capacity. The first phase, ITM01, is targeted to come online in the first quarter of 2028.

And up in Alaska, GCI has been awarded a significant grant to connect 18 hard to reach communities. The NTIA has approved a BEAD grant award for $121M covering three separate projects. The majority will go toward the AIRRAQ Network, which is run by GCI and Bethel Native Coporation and will more than double the number of connected communities in the southwestern part of the state. The AIRRAQ network project connected 5 communities last year, and with this new funding will eventually reach 29 of them. The balance of the BEAD funding will go toward projects around Anchorage and Eagle River.
