Wednesday Roundup: Vantage, STACK, Hurricane Electric, 1623 Farnam

Two data center projects and two network expansions:

Vantage Data Centers is teaming up with Altarea to build out a new campus over in France. The campus will be developed on land owned by Altarea near the city of Bordeaux on the southeastern French coast. Altarea has lined upu 400MW of power from the Fench utility. This will be Vantage’s first foray into France. The timing of construction was not disclosed.

STACK Infrastructure has unveiled new expansion plans in Louisiana. They are working with Amazon and public sector partners on a multi-campus pata center project across the parishes of Caddo and Bossier. That’s the northwest corner of the state encompassing the Shreveport metro area, covering both sides of the Red River. The capital investment for the project is expected to be in the $12B range, with some 1500 jobs on tap for the construction phase and 540+ once complete.

Hurricane Electric has further expanded its presence in Toronto, Canada. They have established two new PoPs within Telehouse facilities, specifically at 151 Front Street West and just down the street at 250 Front Street West. That give Hurricane Electric 7 PoPs in Toronto in all.

And out in the Midwest, 1623 Farnam has announced a new strategic partnership with a regional infrastructure provider. Bridged Broadband has established a presence at the Omaha carrier hotel where it can exchange traffic and better extend its reach. Bridged Broadband operates an 800Gbackbone with connectivity between Omaha, Kansas City, and rural Missouri, a path that doesn’t get much love. Meanwhile, 1623 Farnam has a second interconnection facility in development for the Omaha market that should be ready in 2028.
