Lumen is refining its enterprise networking portfolio to better support AI. They have added a new Multi-Cloud Gateway to their offerings alongside some upgraded metro data center connectivity. The MCGW provides private, high capacity connctivity both to and between clouds, while the metro upgrades enable up to 400Gbps at key destinations in 16 major markets.
Hiawatha Broadband Communications is expanding its FTTx reach in southeastern Minnesota. They are now deploying in Winona, Red Wing, Lake City, Farmington, Hastings, and Empire. They are also boosting speeds to up to 5Gbps. Hiawatha now reaches some 50K locations across 5 counties.
Comcast Business revealed this week its participation in bringing four of this months big sporting events to viewers in the US. They have partnered with NBCUniversal on the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and the NBA All-Star game. Comcast Business’s fiber connects NBCUniversal’s broadcast hubs, studios, and stations, enabling delivery o f live events at scale.
And Orange Business has picked up a software technology customer over in northern Europe. Nordic-based Tieto has signed on for some capacity and managed services, with a gradual transition over from an existing provider. Tieto offers services to the banking, healthcare, tech consulting, and various industrial verticals.
