Five interesting fiber infrastructure investment projects, three of which target Texas:
Light Source Communications has a new intercity route planned in the central US. They will be building a 500-mile link between St. Louis, Missouri and Tulsa, Oklahoma, adding regional capacity and diversity needed to support the AI boom. The new infrastructure will also connect into LSC’s 130-mile metro footprint in Tulsa. The announcement follows LSC’s recent expansion in Indianapolis.
FiberLight is looking at a major regional fiber investment in West Texas. They will be putting $350M to work, adding another 1,400 route miles of fiber infrastructure. That is on top of $150M already announced for the region five months ago. The additional buildout will include a third route to Abilene and generall increase network density and diversity across the state in support of demand from the AI boom.
RightFiber, the last mile entity of Ritter Communications, is expanding its reach into multiple communities in North Texas. They plan to invest $50M to build out last mile infrastructure starting in Seagoville, which sits just southeast of Dallas. Ritter’s footprint also spans parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
Ezee Fiber it expanding its reach to multiple destinations in Michigan, specifically in metro Detroit. They are targeting a buildout in the counties of Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, Genesee, St. Clair, Monroe and Livingston. We had Ezee Fiber CEO Matt Marino on here a few months back to talk about expansion plans for the FTTx business, and this is the kind of opportunity he described.
And LOGIX Fiber Networks is investing in some new network infrastructure in the Texas Triangle. They will be expanding their reach South Dallas, with routes serving data center demand in Wilmer, Red Oak, Lancaster, and Midlothian. And they will also be adding fiber from downtown Austin out east to Bastrop County.
