Four items of data center news and related technology to catch up with this week:
RadiusDC has made an inorganic move down in Atlanta, Georgia. They have acquired the carrier hotel facility at 55 Marietta Street NW. The iconic building consists of 403,000-square-foot spread across 21 stories and has long been one of the region’s primary aggregation points. RadiusDC plans to add another 8MW of utility capacity, boosting the current total to 18MW.
Macquarie Data Centers has reached a new milestone in its latest buildout in Sydney, Australia. They have completed the external structure of a 47MW facility at IC3 Super West. The facility is the third on this campus and is expected to open next September and is part of a broader 200MW buildout by Macquarie targeting demand from AI in the region.
Digital Realty and BW Digital have teamed up to boost connectivity between Singapore and the Indonesian market of Batam. The Nongsa-Changi Cable system will land at Digital Realty’s SIN12 facility. BW Digital is currently building NDP-1 in Batam, targeting some 144MW of capacity and liquid cooling technology to meet demand for AI.
And Applied Digital has made an investment into the cooling technology provider Corintis. They are the lead investor in a $25M funding round for the company, which is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Corintis uses microfluidic technology to implement direct-to-chip liquid cooling. The result is 3x lower temperatures than standard cold plates, higher power densities, and improved energy efficiency.
