Three network expansions and a data center.
Hurricane Electric has expanded its reach in the western US with a new point of presence in Utah. They have established a PoP at FiberState SLC1 in Draper, just south of Salt Lake City. From there they will offer connectivity to some 320 major exchange points around the world.
Ripple Fiber has officially launched services in Illinois. They have turned up some 5K homes in the Elk Grove Village, just to the west of Chicago’s O’Hare airport. From there they will be expanding into the nearby suburbs of Naperville, Streamwood, Joliet, and Aurora as well.
TRG Data Centers has broken ground on a new project in Houston, Texas. The facility, HOU2, will offer 24MW of capacity and 110,000 square feet of space. Their existing HOU1 facility is fully subscribed, and if all goes well the new space will be live by Q4 2026.
And Ritter Communications will be expanding its infrastructure into a new state. Backed by a 20-year contract with an unnamed strategic hyperscaler partner, they will build out fiber between Little Rock, Arkansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s a 280 route mile project that is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
