Four interesting global deployments to catch up with:
Sparkle has picked up some business in the hospitality sector. Planhotel Hospitality Group has tapped Sparkle for SD-WAN and SASE to upgrade its capabilities. The first target was two resorts in Tanzania, with plans to extend to other locations in Kenya, the Maldives, Switzerland, and Italy.
Nokia’s gear has a new job to do in Taiwan. Taoyuan International Airport has selected Nokia’s IP/MPLS technology to upgrade its communications infrastructure, replacing and extending their current system in Terminals 1 and 2. TIAC is also building a third terminal, which will be ready in two years or so. The upgrade will consolidate everything from kiosks, baggage handling, Wi-Fi, and CCTV onto the same infrastructure.
Wingu Africa has a new strategic colo partner in Ethiopia. Ethiopian Electric Utility has deployed critical infrastructure within Wingu’s Addis Adaba data center. EEU is looking to modernize and scale its services across the country. Wingu also operates data centers in Djibouti and Tanzania.
And Ciena has picked up some enterprise connectivity business in Mexico. NetBIT, which is the enterprise division of ENI Networks, is collaborating with Ciena and Braxem to launch a new enterprise offering in Querétaro and San Luis Potosí. The deployment includes Ciena’s 5164 and 3924 routers as well as PON access, and utilizes active distribution nodes to target businesses of 25-50 employees.
