Four bits of global network and data center news to catch up with:
Arelion has added another point of presence on the west coast of the US in Silicon Valley. The new PoP is within OpenColo’s Santa Clara facility, which offers 71,000 square feet targeted at the AI phenomenon. Arelion will use the expansion to support low latency access for AI training and inference workloads.
GNM’s expansion in western Europe continues. Late last week the company launched a new point of presence in Paris. The new PoP in the French capital is at 137 Boulevard Voltaire, bringing their IP backbone and portfolio of services to a wider range of potential customers.
Also in Paris, NTT Data has picked up an interesting strategic partnership. They will be working with Paris Football Club for the upcoming season, in which the club was promoted back to Ligue 1. The two will look to enhance both internal operations and the fan experience.
And Honeywell and LS Electric have teamed up to take on the next generation of data center infrastructure. They will jointly develop and market solutions for power management and distribution, beginning by selling joint products while collaborating on a new grid and battery energy storage system.
