Monday Roundup: Zayo, Equinix, Comcast Business, Boldyn Networks, Macquarie Telecom

Here’s a few more interesting infrastructure items from around the industry:

Zayo and Equinix have teamed up to issue an AI Infrastructure Blueprint. The idea is that having separate silos for the colo and network infrastructure that powers AI workloads is a recipe for inefficiency. So they have come up with a repeatable model to scale and support low latency inference at the edge, blending Zayo’s fiber and Equinix’s neutral interconnection hubs.

Comcast Business picked up two enterprise deals in recent days. In eastern Pennsylvania they picked up a regional banking customer. The First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown will be leveraging their internet & Ethernet capabilities to hook up their main office and 11 local branches. Meanwhile in the Pacific Northwest, Comcast Business will be providing connectivity for Peninsula Life Church in Gig Harbor, Washington. That’s across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from Tacoma.

Boldyn Networks saw some more momentum in the entertainment venue space over in Europe. They are providing 5G DAS connectivity at the AO Arena Manchester, an indoor venue with a capacity of 21,000. This an expansion of their partnership with Legends Global, for whom they are doing similar things in several other facilities. In this case

And Macquarie Telecom has lined up a customer in the healthcare vertical over in northeastern Australia. The nonprofit Cancer Council Queensland will be using their SD-WAN and SASE services and related technologies to support people affected by cancer. Cancer Council Queensland hopes to streamline its voice and data infrastructure for its six facilities across the state
