Three items of regional interest from different corners of the country:
Cityside Fiber has a new Southern California market in its sights. They have partnered with the City of Irvine to expand fiber to residents and businesses across the city. They are starting out in the Walnut and College Park neighborhoods, planning to move into El Camino Real, Turtle Rock, and Northwood later this year. Cityside’s expansion will cost some $50M over time.
Granite State Communications has tapped CHR Solutions to upgrade its BSS/OSS systems. The New Hampshire-based provider has deployed CHR’s Omnia360e platform to help with its operations. Granite State Communications is an independent RLEC that has been making the transition to a fiber based next generation infrastructure.
And Ribbon Communications has lined up a regional customer down south. The North Georgia Network Cooperative will be leveraging Ribbon’s 800G optical transport solution. The technology will enable them to bring 100G, 400G, and 800G links to customers across the rural parts of northern Georgia.
