A new data center project, two interconnection expansions, and a new PoP:
EdgeConneX is upsizing its expansion in Japan with the acquisition of a second data center site in the Greater Osaka region. The addition will provide another 150MW of capacity, bringing the company’s total to 350MW. EdgeConneX announced plans to build a 200MW facility in January of this year, with a completion date of late 2027.
Community IX is moving into northern Virginia. They have launched CIX-NoVA to meet interconnection demands in the largest data center market in the world. CIX-NoVA will initiall be available at data centers in Ashburn and Reston, with additional locations likely to follow. Community IX currently operates exchanges in Atlanta and South Florida.
ValorC3 and Megaport are taking their existing partnership to Idaho. Megaport’s 100G-enabled platform will be launched at ValorC3’s facility in Boise, and should be ready by the middle of next month. ValorC3 is already building a new facility in the city, which was announced three months ago. Megaport expanded its reach into ValorC3’s location in St. George, Utah late last year.
And in Europe, GNM has launched a new network point of presence in the Netherlands. The new PoP is located at Digital Realty’s AMS17 facility in Amsterdam. The move gives them no less than 11 PoPs in the Dutch capital, with a presence reaching into the infrastructure of Equinix, Nikhef, and elsewhere with Digital Realty as well.
