Some AI and three bits of FTTx expansion news:

Macquarie Data Centres is collaborating with Dell Technologies for AI down under. The division of Macquarie Technology Group will host the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA within its infrastructure, specifically at IC3 Super West which should be ready sometime next year. The intent is to satisfy data security and national regulatory needs and enable sovereign AI. The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies.

GCI has been busy building out the last mile up in Alaska. They are now building out FTTx connectivity in the towns of Chignik Lake, Chignik Lagoon, Perryville and False Pass as part of the final phase of the Aleutians Fiber Project. The last destination on the list is Cold Bay, which they expect to complete sometime next year. Meanwhile, the AIRRAQ Network — which they are partnering with Bethel Native Corporation on — is now building out infrastructure in Eek, Platinum, Napaskiak and Oscarville. The project envisions some 840 miles of fiber across the Y-K delta region.

Brightspeed continues to build out fiber down in North Carolina. They are now extending FTTx services into Topsail Island and Sneads Ferry.  Those towns lie on the state’s Atlantic coastline northeast of Wilmington. The project targets some 12K homes and businesses.

And Wyyerd has made a financial move to support its accelerating fiber buildouts in Arizona and southern California. They have expanded their debt facility to $435M, enabling an acceleration of projects that now include Tucson and the West Valley of metro Phoenix. Woodforest National Bank, ING Capital, and SMBC led the new debt facility.
