A quick catchup on news from around the sector and the world:

ODATA, which is the Latin American arm of Aligned Data Centers, has announced the launch of its fourth data center in Mexico. QR04 will be located near San Miguel de Allende near Querétaro, and will have a total capacity of 24MW with half of that already operational. ODATA has both their Delta Cube air cooling as well as a closed-loop water system.

Spirent and Telescent are teaming up for test lab automation. The two have set up a strategic partnership that will leverage Telescent’s optical circuit switch and smart patch panel solutions as part of Spirent’s Velocity test lab automation portfolio. The two are looking to better automate testing for next generation AI/ML infrastructure.

OQ Technology has won some backing to advance direct-to-mobile satellite technology. The Luxembourg-based provider has launched 5NETSAT backed by a €2.5M grant from the European Innovation Council. They are looking to demonstrate 5G network technology backed directly by space-based communications. Specifically targeted are emergency alerts and SMS messages to smartphones.

Lumen offered an update on its Network-as-a-Service progress. The company has passed 1,000 customers on its NaaS platform, which they launched a little less than two years ago. They are targeting large enterprises, and mention the brands Best Buy, C3Aero, Churchill Downs ® Racetrack, Clearway Energy Group, Columbia Sportswear Company, Hanmi Bank, IVision, Foot Locker, MTNSat, and Pac-12 Enterprises specifically as customers. Lumen’s footprint reaches 163K on-net buildings connected by 340K global fiber route miles.

And this morning euNetworks picked up some support from the Carbon Disclosure Project. The pan-European bandwidth infrastructure company has been awarded an ‘A’ grade for their Supplier Engagement Assessment.  The capabilities enable euNetworks’ customers to better track and report carbon emissions.
