One fiber M&A, some municipal fiber, a data center project, and some environmental restoration:

Greenlight Networks has made an inorganic move to complement it’s ongoing entry into Pennsylvania. They have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Loop Internet, which serves customers in both Nor Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Greenlight announced plans to expand its FTTH reach into both Northeast and South-Central parts of the state, and this will certainly accelerate the the first part.

Bluebird Fiber has picked some municipal business in southwestern Illinois. The City of Fairview Heights, a bit east of St. Louis, will be using Bluebird’s dedicated fiber infrastructure to connect key sites in support of public safety, continuity planning, and digital access for its departments.

Novva Data Centers has officially launched its new data center in Sorey County, Nevada. The 300,000 square foot, 60MW is located in the Taho-Reno Industrial Center along I-80 outside Reno. The facility boasts 6ms round trip latency to the SF Bay Area. Novva has other projects still underway in San Francisco, Mesa, North Las Vegas, and Utah.

And Edgeconnex has been busy on the environmental front. They have announced a water conservation partnership with the nonprofit River Partners. The arrangement supports River Partners’ Hidden Valley Ranch project in the San Joaquin Valley, which aims to restore 350 acres of former dairy farmland. Some 80K native plants and trees will be planted, helping restore biodiversity and reducing water usage.
