Three items of regional interest from around the US:
1623 Farnam has polished off a major facility expansion out in Omaha, Nebraska. The data center operator has built out the final two data halls at its flagship facility, adding 280 cabinet-ready positions and 1.5MW of power. Demand from AI and the necessary edge infrastructure encouraged 1623 Farnam to accelerate their timeline for the project.
Ciena has picked up a bit of business up in Montana. The Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation of Montana has turned up an XGS-PON network based on Ciena’s technology to bring broadband to 7,357 tribal members. The buildout was enabled via government grant from the TBCP, deployed with the help of Spy Ego Media, and will be delivered by Buffalo Rock Communications.
Brightspeed is expanding its fiber reach in central New Jersey. They are building out a fiber last mile to some 31,000 homes in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties, specifically in Belle Meade, Flemington, and Clinton. About half that are ready for service now, with the rest to follow.
