Midweek Roundup: Duos Edge AI, EdgeCore, MEF, Console Connect, Macquarie, VeloCloud

Two edge data center projects and two technology partnerships:

Duos Edge AI is expanding its efforts down in southeastern Texas. They will be building out an edge data center in the city of Victoria, about half way between Houston and Corpus Christi. They have done a deal with the Region 3 Education Service Center, paralleling their initial win with Region 16 in Amarillo. We had Duos Edge AI’s President Doug Recker here six months ago to talk about his plans.

EdgeCore has announced significant expansion plans out in the Phoenix metro area. They have acquired 43.87 acres of land in Mesa upon which they plan to build out another 250MW of capacity. Facilities on their first campus in Mesa will come online in 2025 and 2026 with capacity for 206MW, so their total buildout plans now exceed 450MW. Salt River Project is supplying the necessary power.

MEF and Console Connect have teamed up to further advance Lifecycle Service Orchestration. They have released an open source LSO Adaptor Tool, which supports communication between the MEF’s standardized LSO Business APIs and other proprietary APIs. The project is available now on GitHub.

And in Australia, Macquarie Telecom is making a move deeper into SD-WAN. They have made an A$30 investment in VeloCloud alongside the signing of an agreement to launch a VeloCloud Partner Channel via which they will provide SD-WAN to managed service providers across the country. Macquarie first introduced SD-WAN down under 8 years ago and have had a long relationship with VeloCloud.
