Four metro fiber expansion projects and one new edge data center to catch up with:
Consolidated Communications has rolled out a bit of new fiber in Texas. They have connected TRG Datacenters’ facility in Houston to their network. The new infrastructure will enable TRG’s enterprise customers in the finance, healthcare, energy, and tech spaces, adding resiliency and enabling next generation workloads.
Lightpath has further expanded its efforts down in Florida. They are building a new connection to hook up the Hollywood Cable Landing Station at 460 NE 215th Street in support of a strategic anchor customer. The additional loop reaches further into North Miami and brings their total buildout in the Miami metro area past 80 route miles.
Segra has announced plans for a next generation upgrade of its network architecture. In response to surging bandwidth demand and the trend toward more automation, they hope to add scalable, future-proof connectivity. The upgrades target the MidAtlantic and Southeast, as opposed to the Midwestern assets that came from the merger with UPN and the purchase of Everstream’s St. Louis footprint.
Light Source Communications is expanding its footprint into Las Vegas, Nevada. They will be building out 60 route miles touching four towns in the metro area and connecting multiple data centers. They have two hyperscalers as anchor tenants for the ring. LSC is also currently building routes in Phoenix and Tulsa.
And ValorC3 says it is breaking ground on a new data center in Idaho. The new facility will be their second in Boise and will deliver 10MW of capacity, giving them 12MW there so far. ValorC3 entered Boise back in 2020 with the acquisition of Fiber pipe Data Centers.
