Lots of interesting international news to catch up on this week:

euNetworks is helping hook up the Cambridge metro area. They are supplying operational and maintenance support to Light Blue Fibre, a JV between the University of Cambridge and Cambridgeshire County that has 100km route miles of fiber in the area. They are also connecting them back to Kao Data’s data center campus in Harlow. The arrangement will benefit both the enterprise community and the high tech R&D community in and around the university.

Hurricane Electric is teaming up with Digital Realty to expand the reach of its global backbone. They have added PoPs new high speed IP transit within nine Digital Realty locations in the markets of Amsterdam, Ashburn, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York within the US, and in Frankfurt, London, and Zagreb over in Europe. They have also connected with the Digital Realty Internet Exchange in Ashburn and Chicago and will play a role in the data center provider’s Data Hub at the Interxion Digital Docklands campus in London.

CITIC Telecom CPC has expanded its reach in southeast Asia this week. Yesterday the company announced the completion of network gateway deployments for its SD-WAN solutions in both Kuala LUmpur and Jakarta. The expansion complements their existing SD-WAN reach into Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok and puts them in 49 cities across 15 countries. The Hong Kong-based managed services provider is looking to expand its international enterprise capabilities.

And RETN has minted itself a new CEO. They have promoted from within, giving the reins to Tony O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan has been with RETN since 2007, and has been the company’s COO since 2016. He’ll take over from co-Founder Dmitry Samarin, who will stay on as Chairman of the company’s board of directors after an 18 year run.
