Here are a few bits of news from around the sector and world from this week:

CenturyLink’s cloud connectivity capabilities just got more flexible this week. They launched ‘Dynamic Connections’ to provide real-time on-demand Ethernet 2.0 connections from enterprises to cloud destinations across the company’s global footprint.  Meanwhile, CenturyLink is also adding some headcount in southeast Asia. They are opening a security operations center in the network hub of Singapore, the company’s eighth such location. The new SOC will go online early next year.

In the Netherlands, Asteroid and Relined are partnering up for connectivity in western Europe. Relined’s regional fiber network is now connected to Asteroid’s IX in Amsterdam. The partnership gives networks the ability to reach the Asteroid IXP from 30 locations around the Dutch capital.

CyrusOne is taking a stab at South America this autumn via a stake in a local partner. They are paying $12M for a 10% stake in ODATA Brasil. ODATA operates 12MW of space in Brasil with plans for 100MW+, and is about to launch construction in Colombia.

And RingCentral is boosting its customer engagement capabilities via inorganic means. The cloud communications provider announced this morning the acquisition of Dimelo. The deal brings Dimelo’s AI-based smart message routing engine to bear on RingCentral’s digital channels.
