Tata Treks Down to South America

November 14th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Tata Communications has extended its global backbone to a new continent this week.  The company has invested in significant subsea capacity that hooks up its network to Brazil, the largest market in South America.

The subsea cable getting them there is Seaborn Networks’ newly launched Seabras-1 system, which stretches from Wall Township, New Jersey down to Sao Paolo and beyond. And of course, Tata already has a presence in Wall Township, where its TGN Atlantic cable comes shore and they have a cable landing station and data center.  When Seabras-1 came online, it was only a matter of time before Tata took advantage of the opportunity to extend its reach southward.

The expansion will let Tata better serve global enterprises with needs in Latin America generally, and demand for better connectivity to that part of the world is definitely on the rise.
