Thursday Bytes: EdgeConneX, Lumos, Interxion, Exponential-e

Four customer and partnership wins, two in the US and two over in the UK:

EdgeConneX added some more depth to its relationships with the content delivery side of infrastructure. They’ve now partnered with Cloudflare to roll out Cloudflare’s streaming product in 18 of the company’s edge data centers. The arrangement will let internet properties within Cloudflare’s ecosystem deliver their data from just milliseconds away from nearby cable head ends and other distribution points. Cloudflare’s security services will also have access to the edge.

Lumos Networks has won its first big deal in Ohio, stretching its influence out into the Midwest for the first time. They have signed a multi-year agreement with Memorial Health System to provide fiber, SIP, and cloud connectivity to seven of the company’s locations in and around Marietta, Ohio. That’s just across the Ohio River from the Lumos market in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Interxion has picked up a contract in the financial vertical. Instinet plans to host its multilateral trading facility BlockMatch within Interxion’s London data center campus. Instinet will also be leveraging Interxion for redundant GPS, Glonass, and Galileo time synchronization signals as part of its effort to prepare for the MiFID II regulatory regime. The rollout should be ready sometime in Q4 prior to the MiFID II implementation on January 3, 2018.

And Exponential-e has secured a position on the Technology Services 2 Framework. The British Ethernet and cloud connectivity provider has been looking to expand its relationship with the public sector, and this is a key milestone along that path. Exponential-e will have a presence in all four main areas covered by the framework, enabling the company to deliver services to government-related entities of all sizes.
