Integra Names Casey CEO, O’Hara Chairman

March 1st, 2011 by · 2 Comments

Regional CLEC and fiber operator Integra Telecom has itself a new chief executive officer, although it’s still a familiar face.  Tom Casey, who had been serving as the company’s chairman of the board since 2009, will take over the CEO position from longtime CEO and co-founder Dudley Slater.  Despite the leadership change, the company seems likely to continue on its current trajectory. Casey looks forward “to building on the company’s strong network of fiber assets and robust IP network” and “to continue to expand our portfolio of managed services offered to local and regional customers.”

Meanwhile, another familiar face will be taking over for Casey as chairman of the board, namely former Level 3 President and COO Kevin O’Hara who has been resurfacing more visibly  of late.  Dudley Slater will stay with the board of directors and take on the title of vice chairman, and Jim Huesgen will remain in the role as President, where he has been since 2000.

So no new blood, but lots of new titles and responsibilities.  Integra has been rather quiet lately, perhaps we will hear more from them going forward now that they’ve decided who will sit in what chair.  During last year’s fiber M&A activity, some speculated that the company’s assets might draw some attention but I have yet to hear anything new on that front.
