It came back up an hour later.  I suspect it was just a shot across the bow, but it prompted me to set up better workarounds in advance.

About a half hour ago, I lost contact with everything *.google.com here in Beijing.  That includes mail.google.com, finance.google.com, docs.google.com, google analytics and adsense, and all searches.  Anyone know if it's part of the Google/China dispute, or is it a more general outage?
