Zayo Buys Some Colo Close to Home

September 6th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Zayo Group has hopped back into the M&A ring once again, albeit for a relatively small deal.  The Colorado-based fiber builder and operator has acquired another colo facility along Colorado’s Front Range for $3.5M.

The 29.5K sq. foot building is at 7579 W 103rd Avenue in Westminster just north of Denver and a mere 15 miles from the company’s headquarters in Boulder to the north.  The facility offers 10,000 square feet of raised floor space and 7,500 square feet of disaster recovery office space, and was apparently previously in the hands of Stream Data Centers.

While they’ve been at it since the acquisition of Fibernet Telecom Group back in 2009, it is still almost hard to believe that Zayo’s interconnection-focused zColo division now operates some 50 or so facilities spanning over a million square feet in some 30 markets worldwide.
