Verizon Makes Telematics Acquisition in Spain

January 25th, 2018 by · Leave a Comment

Verizon’s growing appetitie for fleet management services has taken it into southern Europe with a new acquisition. Verizon has acquired Movildata Internacional, moving into Spain, the continent’s second largest market with more than 5 million commercial vehicles on the roads.

MovilData provides commercial fleet management solutions in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Verizon Telematics was already strong up in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France, and Poland. One of the first moves Verizon will make will be to make its Fleetmatics REVEAL technology available to Spanish fleet operators.

Movildata employees will become part of Verizon Telematics, giving the company some more boots on the ground for sales and support across southern Europe.
