Zayo Plans to Double Atlanta Colo

September 26th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Zayo Group announced plans to expand its colo footprint in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday.  The company is building out a second data center in the southeastern hub in response to demand for both connectivity and colo from four anchor tenants.

The new data center will be at 1150 White Street SW, right next door to their existing facility at 1100 White Street SW.  It will be that facility’s twin at least in terms of size, adding 72,100 square feet to their footprint and doubling the company’s total in the city.  It will also feature 6MW of power.

Atlanta has long been one of Zayo’s bigger fiber markets, with many of its acquisitions contributing metro assets over the years.  In 2015 those assets supported a significant FTT buildout, and today their network extends throughout the metro area with more fiber going in all the time.
