Expereo to Buy Border 6

June 15th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

There was some M&A in the managed network services space yesterday that’s worth a look.  Netherlands-based Expereo has announced the acquisition of French-based Border 6.

Border 6 specializes in the automation of BGP management, bringing software defined networking and automation to bear on the problem of keeping multi-homed networks running at peak speed and efficiency.  That technology is key in a world where cloud resources are only as good as the network connecting them to customers.

Expereo will fold that technology and the team that produced it into its own cloud acceleration efforts.  Their existing XCA platform will be complemented by an XCA Edge option aimed at sites beyond the company’s 16 hubs to other data centers and customer sites.  Expereo is looking to satisfy a growing demand for better overall user experiences from cloud-powered applications.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
