Wilcon Adds More LA Metro Fiber

March 16th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Wilcon is expanding its footprint again in southern California.  The regional and metro provider said this morning that it is deploying dark fiber deeper into the Los Angeles metro area.

Wilcon says it has deployed new network in Venice, Culver City, and Calabasas, bringing both dark and lit capacity to enterprises and especially those in the LA region’s key media and entertainment vertical.

Organic expansion has been the name of the game for Wilcon they merged with Freedom Dark Fiber and lit the network.  Most recently they unveiled small-cell-driven buildouts both in Los Angeles and in nearby San Diego.  And there certainly seems to be plenty of work to do across the region.

Yet given the company’s status as one of the country’s active regional network specialists backed by private equity, one can’t help but suspect that consolidation will creep back into the picture for Wilcon before long – on either side of the table.
