Interconnection Roundup: DE-CIX, Console, PacketFabric

Three interconnection and cloud networking items to peruse this morning:

DE-CIX’s Texas expansion continued to gain momentum this week. The IX’s Dallas footprint now reaches into the meet-me room of the Infomart Dallas facility at 1950 N. Stemmons Freeway. That’s one of the city’s key interconnection points, and definitely a necessary node on any IX fabric in the metro area.  We had Infomart CEO John Sheputis here for a fascinating interview last autumn.

Also in Texas, CyrusOne has announced an agreement with PacketFabric. They’ll be using the new cloud networking and interconnection provider’s network to connect big enterprise clients with carrier and cloud endpoints. PacketFabric just launched its SDN-powered network last month, and has certainly hit the ground running.

And Console has another data center partner in its ecosystem. They have added network pathways into four Cologix facilities, specifically in Dallas, Montreal, New Jersey, and Toronto. Cologix’s rumored sale process ended last week with the purchase of a majority stake in the company by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
