Level 3 Adds Asian DDoS Depth

January 16th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

Over the weekend, Level 3 Communications took its security capabilities in the Far East to a new level.  They have opened a set of new scrubbing centers throughout the region capable of mitigating Distributed Denial of Service attacks.

The new deployments in the key markets of Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore reflect what Level 3 sees as a growing threat in the APAC region as a whole.  Along with their existing scrubbing centers in São Paulo, Frankfurt, London, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C, they now have eleven such facilities on four continents.

With a total DDoS ingest capacity of 4.5Tbps and global coverage, Level 3 hopes to better protect the most vulnerable, particular among the multinational corporations that are the company’s chief customer int he region.   The company has been steadily advancing its network security capabilities on multiple fronts over the last few years, taking on larger and larger potential threats.
