January 6th, 2017 by · 2 Comments

The owner of the Los Angeles carrier hotel fixture One Wilshire has plans to expand further north.  GI Partners announced yesterday the acquisition of KOMO Plaza up in Seattle.

komoplazaKOMO Plaza is located at 100/140 Fourth Ave North right next to the Space Needle in downtown Seattle, and features some 294,000 square feet spread across two buildings.  It’s not all for data center though, there is office and retail space as part of the package.  It also comes with a meet-me room as well as 18MW of utility power, and already houses one or the four core switches of the Seattle Internet Exchange.

The purchase cost GI Partners some $276M, and will put them in possession of two key gateways between the US and the APAC region generally.
